This bullet is a lighter weight alternative with less recoil than the 500 grain Sharps design for single shot rifles. This design and weight is about the minimum that will still shoot very well in these rifles with their rates of twist set up for the 500 grain( 1 in 18 (500 grain) to 1 in 22 ( 405 grain)) out to about 150 to 200 yards max. Beyond that distance the 500 grain delivers better accuracy performance. The nose profile is longer and sits farther out of the case to minimize bullet jump than the RNFPBB 405 grain bullet made for lever gun use so this design might not be suitable for lever gun applications. The bullet features three grease grooves and I am now using a lube that is suitable for smokeless and black powder which is now included at no additional charge. The bullets will still be available unlubed and unsized for those that wish to do their own. All bullets will be soft cast and hard cast will also be available on special request. The design is also a plain base for the purists. This design also points up the importance of looking at various O.A.L.'s in the loading manuals as its requirements are different than the deeper seating lever gun bullet. These bullets are precision cast and then are Hand Sized and Lubed with a blackpowder / smokeless compatible lube for maximum accuracy.
